Khalid Jasem Bin Kalban is the Chairman of Marka PJSC. He is one of UAE’s most respected businessmen and brings a wealth of expertise from across the industrial, financial and investment sectors to Marka.
Mr. Kalban serves in a number of major roles including Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Investments PJSC; Director of Union Properties PJSC and Chairman of Al Mal Capital PSC; and Member of the Board of Directors for the National General Insurance Company PSC.
Among his high-profile international roles, Mr. Kalban is Board of Directors for First Energy Bank B.S.C., The Islamic Bank of Asia Limited and Arcapita Investment Management B.S.C.
HE Jamal Al Hai is the Executive Senior Vice President of Dubai Airports. He has helped with the rapid growth of Dubai International Airport, one of the fastest growing airports in the world and recognised as the aviation hub of the Middle East. Mr. Al Hai is currently working on the rapid expansion of Dubai World Central (DWC) airport, expects to host 25-30 airlines by 2015 and after completion is expected to be the largest airport in the world.
Mr. Al Hai is the Chairman of ExecuJet Middle East, an aircraft management provider of private leasing jets, jet services and maintenance; Global Jet, flights and leasing aircrafts; Alpha Tours, airline ticketing, fleet of buses for tourism, a cruise ship, and hotels; ALPHA-55, a group of companies representing international companies in the fields of simulator, soil testing and sports fields (indoor and outdoor); and Al Hai Motors, which represents three different Chinese car manufacturers with a showroom and a facility for parts and services.
Mr. Al Hai was a former member of FNC – Federal National Council UAE Parliament, representing the Emirate of Dubai. Mr. Al Hai is a current member of the Canadian Business Council and the Dubai Airshow Supreme Committee.
HE Khaled Mohammed Alkamda is a board member of Marka Holding. He was previously the Director General of the Community Development Authority (CDA), where was responsible for regulating and overseeing community development in the Emirate in alignment with the Dubai Plan 2021.
With a career that has extended over almost three decades, Mr. Alkamda has contributed significantly to the development of Dubai, applying his extensive experience in planning public and private sector growth in a variety of senior positions with major companies and institutions.
These include Senior Vice President for Corporate Development at Emirates Group; Vice President of Istithmar World; Group Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB); Chairman of DIB-Pakistan, Dubai Investment Park, the Bank of Khortoum and Al Burj Real Estate Development; Vice Chairman of DIB-Jordan; and Board Member of the UAE Marriage Fund.
Hamad Al Shamsi is the CEO of Private Investment Company whose objectives inter alia, encompasses investments and large scale real estate development projects. Mr. Al Shamsi served in the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority prior to gaining the Private Department of the Late His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Furthermore, Mr. Al Shamsi is represented in the Board of Directors of several leading Government and Private Institutions engaged in commercial, financial, aviation and service based activities. Mr. Al Shamsi is a graduate in Business Administration from UAE University, Al Ain and, also, has an MBA in Business Administration majoring in Finance and Banking.
Adel Zarouni represents Sharjah Insurance Company on Marka PJSC’s Board of Directors. He is the Managing Partner and founder of Rivoli Group, which is one of the Middle East’s largest luxury retailers. He is also the founder, Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Executive Committee of Taaleem – one of the UAE’s largest education providers.
His wide experience across the region has allowed him to add value as a board member for several high profile companies, including the National General Insurance Company, Pear Azure Hotels and Zarouni Investments. He is also Vice Chairman of Emirates Golf Federation, Secretary General of the Arab Golf Federation, and Board Member of the UAE National Olympic Committee.
Naser Al Nabulsi is the founder and CEO of Al Mal Capital, a leading UAE financial institution, and founder of SkydomeCommercial, a private investment advisory company based in Dubai.
His financial sector experience encompasses a number of senior roles with major companies and institutions. He began his career with Merril Lynch and became the youngest ever global First Vice President of the company, where he was consistently ranked as a Top Performer in private banking. He later served as the Senior Investment Officer for the Private Office of HRH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Head of Private Equity and Asset Management for the group, and as the first CEO of Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), which he was responsible for launching and developing while also setting up the Exchange (Nasdaq Dubai).
Khaled Almheiri is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Evolvence Capital and has been involved in all phases of the firm’s development. He primarily focuses his efforts on strategic direction, business development, and investor and regulatory relations. Mr. Almheiri has extensive capital raising and investment experience and holds operational management and board mandates of various Evolvence Capital initiatives.
He is the chairman of the Evolvence India Fund, the first independent India focused Fund of Funds; Repton Dubai, the first overseas partner school of the prestigious UK public school; Evolvence India Life Sciences Fund, a private equity fund focusing on pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in India; and Evolvence Knowledge Investments, formed to promote educational institutions in the GCC. Mr. Almheiri has successfully established franchised operations in the GCC region for reputed international brands such as Nina Ricci, Vogue, Zadig and Voltaire, among others. Mr. Almheiri also currently serves on the board of Arady Real Estate, and Amzaan.
Prior to founding Evolvence Capital in 2000, Mr. Almheiri worked in the North America Department of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) where he specialised in technology and telecommunication equity investments. Mr. Almheiri holds a B.S. in Finance from Saint Louis University, Missouri, USA.
Mohammed Saif Darwish Ahmed Al Ketbi is the Director of Investment & Business Development at Darwish Bin Ahmed & Sons – one of the leading business groups in the UAE – where he is responsible for driving the growth of the company’s investment and property portfolio across 35 countries.
His regional experience across a variety of sectors includes Vice Chairman of the Danat El Emarat Women and Children’s Hospital Project, as well board member for Air Condition and Heating Industry (AHI), Tasweek Real Estate Company and Dubai Investment Company PJSC.
Mr. Ketbi holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a major in Business Management, from the Higher College of Technology, UAE.
Abdulla Hamad Al Awani is the Asset Management Manager of International Capital Trading, where he is responsible for applying his rich experience in strategic planning, sales and marketing, asset management, risk mitigation and customer relations across several business verticals.
He was previously Corporate Sales Manager at Sorouh Real Estate PJSC, Abu Dhabi, and as Country Manager at Thuraya Telecommunications Company, building experience in the UAE’s thriving real estate and communications sectors.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, and a Diploma in Finance and Banking, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree from New York Institute of Technology.
